Jubilee celebration

On Friday 1st June Silverhill turned red, white and blue to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The whole school was decorated with the children's beautiful home-made bunting and they greatly enjoyed learning 'Sing' the Gary Barlow Jubilee Anthem.  Dressed in an array of colour and even the queen dropped by to say hello!  Children were upstanding to sing the National Anthem before enjoying their tea party style lunch, finished off with a lovely cake, kindly baked and decorated by the PTFA for every pupil. Throughout the afternoon children took part in a carousel of traditional activities, the most memorable of which was the tug of war!At the end of the day Mrs Haywood has made an amazing cake for the whole school to share and every pupil was awarded with a specially engraved medal as a keepsake of the occasion. It was a terrific day which will hopefully be an occasion the children will remember for many years to come.
