Congratulations to all the Year 5 children who took part in their Level 2 bikeability training through Cycle Derby. Over the five days for one hour each day the children first had a safety check before a recap of level 1. The next three sessions took place on quiet roads near school with children learning which part of the road to ride in; how to pass parked cars; how to do a u-turn; the difference between minor and major roads; how to turn left and right into different kinds of roads. On the final day the children got to put it altogether in a series of more complex manoeuvres and a ride around the local area! The children will be presented with an orange Bikeability Level 2 badge and certificate.

Diggers on site!
It seems a long time coming but finally the building work has begun! Today lots of men in suits were onsite to make sure there is as little disruption as possible. The safety of pupils, staff and parents is the priority! The diggers moved in to begin clearing an area on the lower field ready for the 'construction compound' to be set up. Keep checking on on the school blog to watch how the build begins to take shape over the coming weeks and months!

With every member of Year 6 involved, and supported by a choir of Year 5, the children put on four superb performances to pupils, staff and parents. With some great acting and wonderful singing the children did an amazing job! Click through to the main blog to see photographs and video clips from the show.
